SLIT LAMP

A slit lamp is a microscope with a bright light used during an eye exam. It gives your ophthalmologist a closer look at the different structures at the front of the eye and inside the eye. It’s a key tool in determining the health of your eyes and detecting eye disease.

OCT

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an imaging technique that uses low-coherence light to capture micrometer-resolution, two- and three-dimensional images from within optical scattering media. Optical coherence tomography is based on low-coherence interferometry, typically employing near-infrared light. The use of relatively long wavelength light allows it to penetrate into the scattering medium.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an imaging method used to generate a picture of the back of the eye, called the retina. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. The OCT is an excellent way to visualize the different layers of the retina and optic nerve in the eye. OCT is routinely used during check-up of patients with Cataract.

RETINOSCOPE

Retinoscope is used to to obtain an objective measurement of the refractive error of a patient's eyes. The examiner uses a retinoscope to shine light into the patient's eye and observes the reflection off the patient's retina. While moving the streak or spot of light across the pupil the examiner observes the relative movement of the reflex or manually places lenses over the eye to "neutralize" the reflex.
